25,000 ESB customers are preparing to spend another night without power.
The electricity company said supplies have been returned to nearly a 250,000 people since storm Darwin wreaked havoc with the network on Wednesday.
Repair crews have been working around the clock over the past three days with an extra 35,000 customers returning to the grid today alone.
"Conditions are difficult … most of the faults that we're dealing with are on very wet land, so we're trying to get access to those," an ESB spokesperson said.
He said that there were still many fallen trees making access difficult.
