Gardaí are searching 20 premises in the Dublin area as part of a crackdown on organised crime and suspected laundering of the proceeds.

Gardaí are searching 20 premises in the Dublin area as part of a crackdown on organised crime and suspected laundering of the proceeds.

The Criminal Assets Bureau and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau are all involved.

Officers are searching a number of private residences as well as some commercial premises associated with the motor trade.

40 high end and luxury cars were seized in the raids which was focusing on money laundering and finance.

A number of documents and electronic equipment were also seized along with a significant amount of cash (Euro and Sterling).

Jewellery and a number of watches were also taken.
