A pedestrian is in a serious condition following a collision in Dublin City this morning.

The 19-year-old woman was hit by an articulated lorry at Cork Hill at the junction with Lord Edward St at around 7am.

Emergency services attended the scene and she was taken to St James's Hospital, where she is in a serious condition.

Dame St and Lord Edward Street had been closed both ways between Georges St and Fishamble Street. The road has now been cleared and the road has reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact them at Pearse St Garda Station.
