Genomics Medicine Ireland, which is is working on treatments for Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis, is creating the positions as part of a €40m investment.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has welcomed the jobs, which will be rolled out over the next three years.

The company's acting CEO Daniel Crowley said: "We are looking for geneticists, disease specialists, medical doctors with an interest in genetics and operational teams to help us forge and execute these clinical collaborations."

Genomics Medicine Ireland will create a scientific platform to examine the human genome in order to better understand the role of genetics in disease and rare conditions, and to lead to new prevention strategies and treatments.
