100 new jobs expected in Limerick

Up to 100 new jobs are expected to be announced for Limerick today.

Vistakon Ireland, a subsidary of Johnson and Johnson, already employs 650 people at its plant in the city.

It produces the Acuvue range of contact lenses, one of the leading contact lens products in the world.

As well as the new jobs, the company is also set to announce an expansion of the plant. The expansion is being backed by the IDA and the Department of Enterprise.

It is understood that Jobs Minister Richard Bruton will visit the company later this morning to announce the new positions.
