100 jobs to be created in Dublin by Credit Suisse
A major bank is to create about 100 jobs this year as it opens a new trading floor in the International Financial Services Centre, Dublin.
Credit Suisse is to take on 40 trading, risk and capital professionals and 60 support roles as it begins offering brokerage, financing and securities lending from Dublin for clients around the world.
Working alongside the bank’s London operations, all sales staff and relationship managers will remain in the UK, closer to clients.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny opened the new trading floor.
“It represents a strong endorsement of Ireland’s reputation as a leading location for international financial services,” he said.
The investment was supported by IDA Ireland.
Tim O’Hara, chief executive of Credit Suisse global markets, said: “This marks a first for Ireland and for Credit Suisse.
“The broad talent pool and efficiencies that the capital city has to offer made the decision to deploy operations in Dublin an easy one. Today’s opening further demonstrates our ongoing commitment to continue optimally serving our clients.
“We have made considerable investment in infrastructure and technology, all of which will help enhance our client offering.”
