Why comments are deleted

The following small selection of comments was deleted from the site for various contraventions of our house rules and/or gross insensitivity, including:

• Racism;
• Being off-topic;
• Personal abuse.

Some contributors ask why we delete comments at all. Showing the comments below is intended to answer that question and provide context for our move towards mandatory logins.
