Wood slams celebrity activists
26/08/2006 - 10:14:47Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has criticised fellow musicians Bono and Bob Geldof for involving themselves in politics.
The Start Me Up rocker refuses to get mixed up in high-profile causes like Bono and Geldof, because he thinks their efforts don't make any difference.
And 59-year-old Wood says he would rather have a good time and make people smile than waste time on politics.
He says: "I would never go into politics like Bono. Geldof and him can keep trying until the end of the earth but it won't make a difference. I like to make people happy. Politics doesn't do that. Art does."
