Barbara Windsor is "tempted" to return to 'EastEnders'.

The 75-year-old actress - who played Queen Vic landlady Peggy Mitchell from 1994 to 2010 - has been asked by bosses of the BBC One soap to reprise her role, and while she misses the show and the cast, she is biding her time over the decision because she used to get "absolutely exhausted" playing the role.

Barbara - who has been married to former actor Scott Mitchell for 13 years - said: "I miss 'EastEnders' - I absolutely do, I loved it. But I was exhausted when I left, absolutely exhausted. But they asked me to go back recently ... they've asked me a couple of times, but I think about it and I don't sleep.

"I am tempted, that's the point! But Scott says you have to really think about it because towards the end I was so exhausted and not sleeping at night and waking up looking at the script - it became too much part of my life."

Barbara - who is best known for her roles in a number of 'Carry On' films - admits she got "very excited" when she was asked to play Peggy again, but still needs time to decide whether a return to the show would be a good move.

Speaking on ITV's 'This Morning', she added: "If you're like me, I take every single job like it's my last time ... which it might be! And if I'm called in a 6:30, I'm in at six ... it's my own fault. When they asked me to go back I got all very excited - but I'm not quite ready for it."
