Vivienne Westwood kits out Virgin Atlantic cabin crew

The designer unveiled the stylish eco-friendly clothing at a London party celebrating the airline company's 30th anniversary last night.

The uniforms, in the company's trademark red colour, are made from polyester recycled from plastic bottles, taking inspiration from some of the British seamstress' most iconic pieces.

The stylish yet functional jacket is inspired by Westwood's 'Bettina' jacket from the 90s and comes with a matching red pencil skirt.

Male cabin crew will be dressed in a Saville Row-inspired, three-piece combo made out of burgundy Oxford weave wool, the MailOnline is reporting.

Over 7,500 Virigin Atlantic staff will take to the skies this September wearing the new uniform, comprising 22 pieces in total.

We love them! They are so streamline and stylish, what do you think?

"Westwood was the natural choice to redesign the uniform across all areas of our business. Firstly because original design and sustainability are vital to both Virgin Atlantic and Vivienne Westwood.” Virgin Atlantic commented.

"And this long term partnership brings those ideals together in an exciting and innovative collaboration."

The unveiling event was attended by celebrity guests including Mark Ronson, Matt Smith and Naomie Harris.

Virgin are known for their innovative ideas, how could we forget their Hollywood-inspired, animated safety video they launched earlier this year. Here’s a reminder.
