Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street saw Hayley Cropper take her own life, after suffering from inoperable pancreatic cancer, in one of the most controversial storylines in the soaps history.
Some groups had slammed the show for ‘glamourising’ suicide and claimed it would lead to a spate of copycat acts, something which Julie Hesmondhalgh who played Hayley profusely denied.
Hayley passed away next to her beloved husband Roy tonight after taking a cocktail of drugs in the flat they shared together and Twitter was not able to cope with the drama.
