DOCUMENTARY: Under Offer: Estate Agents on the Job (BBC2, 8pm – 9pm)

Estate agents’ jobs used to be, well, safe as houses, but these days, with the market more complex than ever before, it’s a dog-eat-dog world in this trade.

So this new six-part series puts them in the spotlight, as they broker the biggest purchases most of us will ever make. We meet estate agent to the super-rich folk, Gary Hersham, who conducts his work in some of the world’s most expensive postcodes.

Currently he’s looking after a £39million townhouse (which has eight bathrooms, a private gym and a cinema) situated in Mayfair W1, central London. But up in County Durham, Lynne Blaney deals in a whole different game – where houses start at auction for £1.

Meanwhile, rookie estate agent Lewis Rossiter works in Exeter, Devon, one of the UK’s most desirable areas, and he’s feeling the pressure – what with a pregnant wife and a demanding client who wants a quick sale.

DOCUMENTARY: Invasion of the Job Snatchers (BBC3, 9pm – 10pm)

One week into their eight-week work placements, and the honeymoon period is over for the jobless youngsters in Christchurch.

Things are not looking good for the occasionally coherent Adam, who is given a final warning by his mentor on the ferry, Paul.

“I set my alarm, yeah, for half past seven, and it didn’t go off ’til half past eight,” explains the 19-year-old, blaming his ’Blackberrah’ for the problem.

Paul gives him a yellow card, and indifferent Adam responds: “Whatever then, innit.”

Meanwhile, model apprentice Carl is also in hot water after celebrating his first pay day with a night on the tiles, he should have started work at the butchers at 6.30am.

Despite an impressive start at his placement, he oversleeps and is five hours late. (Strangely the camera crew didn’t think to wake him).

By the end of week two, 11 trainees become nine as one walks and another is given the sack.

SCIENCE: The £60,000 Puppy: Cloning Man’s Best Friend(Channel 4, 10pm – 11pm)

Sooam Biotech might not mean anything to you at the moment – but it soon will. That’s because after viewing this programme, you’re not likely to forget it in a hurry.

It is the only company in the world with the technology to clone dogs, and Britain’s most obsessive dog owners have been given the chance to ’immortalise’ their canine friend free – quite a bargain, really, given that the process usually costs £60,000.

Cameras follows the South Korean team as they travel our land, meeting eccentric dog lovers who can’t even contemplate life without their pet.

The film looks at the initial meetings throughout the cloning process, and the cutting-edge science behind it.

Kate Teckman, Channel 4’s Features Commissioning Editor, said: “From the ethical and moral questions that programme will raise, to looking at how the South Korean team of scientists view the British and our love of their four-legged friends, it will be a fascinating to see just how much our dogs mean to us.”

(2001) This Second World War drama centres on a desperate battle for the Atlantic to save an allied convoy of ships from near certain destruction.

The Nazis have unexpectedly changed the code used on their enigma machines, allowing German U-boats to communicate with one another in secrecy.

Leading cryptographer Logie reluctantly calls upon the service of Tom Jericho, a brilliant mathematician who has taken an enforced leave of absence.

Jericho’s lover Claire Romilly disappeared several months ago in mysterious circumstances. He hesitantly accepts the offer, working with Claire’s bookish housemate Hester to unravel the new encoding system.

FILM: Scarface (ITV4, 10pm – 1.25am)

(1983) Tony Montana flees Cuba for the United States to chase the American dream and gets involved in the drugs trade.

After a few tough deals, including a chainsaw attack that leaves him scarred, Montana rises in the cocaine trade. But when you’re at the top, there’s nowhere to go but down, and Montana’s paranoia grows.

This is an absolute classic, and is arguably the defining role of Al Pacino’s career.

It’s incredibly violent and blood-splattered, but it’s also enthralling and clever, thanks to Brian De Palma’s direction and Oliver Stone’s excellent screenplay.

Starring: Al Pacino, Michele Pfeiffer, Robert Loggia, Steven Bauer and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.

FILM: In Bruges (Film4, 10.50pm – 12.55am)

(2008) Two hitmen are ordered to lie low in Belgium after an assignment goes wrong.

Trying to pass as tourists in the medieval city of Bruges, the bickering assassins are drawn into an increasingly surreal series of misadventures involving a dwarf actor and a secretive drug dealer.

When their gangster boss turns up, they face a fight for their lives.

This is one of the best films in a while, with a terrific premise, razor-sharp dialogue, and performances from three actors at the peak of their powers.

Anybody who thinks Colin Farrell is only famous for being a hellraiser should check out his superb performance here, while Brendan Gleason once again shows his range and diversity with a brilliant turn as a likeable assassin trying to keep his protege on the straight and narrow.

Starring: Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes
