Shabnam booted out of Big Brother

15/06/2007 - 23:34:05
Self-confessed princess Shabnam was the first person to be evicted from the Big Brother house today.

The 22-year-old north London temp received 81.4% of the total votes cast, chosen by the public over Carole and Tracey.

But speaking to Davina McCall after the eviction, she said she was “looking on the bright side”.

She said: “I’ve got no complaints. I’ve had a blast.”

Earlier this evening, four new male housemates arrived in the house. Billi, 25, Brian, 19, Jonathan, 49, and Liam, 22, joined what was once an all-female house, meaning there are now seven male and eight female housemates in the Big Brother house.

On hearing of her eviction, Shabnam said “I told you, I knew it, I knew it,” before kissing and hugging her housemates.

“I’ve had a blast,” she said. The other housemates reacted emotionally, with Charley crying and hugging her, and Amanda telling her: “You don’t deserve to go!”

“We’ll stay in touch,” she said when she finally left the house. “I’ll support you all. I love you all, don’t forget me.”

Of the reasons for her eviction, she told Davina: “I think I was very outspoken and loud, in a good way.”

She admitted that she was lazy when it came to helping with the housework, but added: “I sang when I did it and did it with my heart and soul. I contributed to the energy in the house.”

She was teased by Davina about her talk of deals and her aspirations to be famous.

She said: “I still want to get the most out of this. I have a zest for life. I’m not going to say ’I want this, I want this’, whatever comes to me would be welcome.

“I’m grateful for the experience – I had a fantastic time.”
