On-the-mend Holden shows off baby Hollie
Amanda Holden has shown she is well on the way to recovery after battling for her life and introduced her new baby Hollie to the world.
The 'Britain’s Got Talent' judge was left in a critical condition following the birth of her second child a fortnight ago, spending several days in intensive care.
But the 40-year-old actress has shown how the family is moving on with the first picture of the new addition to her family which she has released today.
Baby Hollie, who was born weighing just over six pounds, is cuddled by her sister Lexi while flanked by Holden and her husband, record producer Chris Hughes.
Hollie was born by Caesarean two weeks ago and Holden is thought to have needed a blood transfusion, leaving her in a critical condition for three days. However the couple have not given any details about the difficulties of the birth.
She had recovered enough to be allowed home last week and continues to improve. The picture shows colour has returned to the star’s cheeks as she cosies up to her family, surrounded by congratulations cards for her new arrival and floral gifts from friends and family.
Holden is aiming to return to her role as a judge on ITV1 series 'Britain’s Got Talent' by the weekend when the programme heads up to Edinburgh.
The couple have already expressed their gratitude to medical staff for their “skill and dedication” to enable them to pull through. A spokeswoman said last week that Holden and Hughes are “completely besotted with their two girls”.
Holden had been in good health throughout the pregnancy, but she has had previous difficulties.
She lost a child last year, seven months into a pregnancy, and in 2010 she suffered a miscarriage.
A spokesman for 'Britain’s Got Talent' said actress Carmen Electra would be on the panel testing out wannabe stars.
He said: “Carmen Electra is our guest judge for the London auditions. Amanda is expected back for Edinburgh next Saturday.”
