No sitcom satisfaction for Jagger?

Mick Jagger’s move into sitcom stardom may not be happening after all, it was reported today.

It had been reported that the Rolling Stones frontman would appear regularly in a new comedy series originally named Let’s Rob Mick Jagger.

The title was later changed to The Knights Of Prosperity and now it seems the rocker will only make a brief cameo in the first episode, according to The New York Post.

The ABC comedy was dreamed up by a team that includes David Letterman’s producer Rob Burnett.

The newspaper added that reports from Los Angeles indicated the network and producers were exploring the possibility of a finding a new celebrity “victim“.

The show’s makers went to New Zealand in the spring to film scenes with Jagger for the pilot, as the singer had a five-hour break on a pit stop from his Bigger Bang Tour.

Since then they have been unable to get any more camera time with him, the Post reported.

The pilot was about a group of down-and-out friends who plot to break into Jagger’s Manhattan penthouse and rob it while the singer is out of town.

ABC has been playing down Jagger’s role in the sitcom in recent weeks, the newspaper said, saying he was just a background figure.

The show is set to make its debut on October 17.
