Brown blames Houston for cocaine addiction

R n' B singer Bobby Brown has blamed his ex-wife Whitney Houston for getting him hooked on hard drugs.

The 39-year-old, whose 15-year marriage to Houston was officially dissolved last year, has accused his former wife of introducing him to cocaine, which led to a spiralling drugs habit.

Brown was convicted of cocaine possession in December and sentenced to a year of community service.

Now the former New Edition star has put the blame solely on Houston.

He writes in his forthcoming autobiography: "I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice.

"At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably. I was using everything I could get my hands on, from cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine."

Houston also has a conviction for drug possession after she was arrested at a Hawaiian airport in January 2000.

The 'How Will I Know' singer pleaded no contest to possessing marijuana and was ordered to make a donation to an anti-drugs campaign in place of community service.
