Director: Andrew Adamson

Cast: Ben Barnes, William Moseley, Warwick Davis, Peter Drinklege

Cert: 12

Certain to be one of the summer’s blockbusting hits is the second Narnia film, based on the muscular Christian works of Irish-born C.S. Lewis.

Returning through the old wardrobe into the world of Narnia, the children find the place has changed: laid low by war and evil rulers.

There is a much darker tone to this episode, but it still grips the imagination and delivers its quota of thrilling action and subtle messages.

In Barnes we have a broodingly handsome hero, who is all set to return for the third film of what is an outstanding series.

Star Rating: 4/5.
