Kilmer steps in for Arnett in 'Knight Rider'
08/02/2008 - 08:10:37Actor Val Kilmer has replaced Will Arnett as the voice of talking car Kitt in the TV movie remake of 'Knight Rider'.
Arnett had already finished filming for the movie-adaptation of the hit 1980s' series, but was forced to quit the project after a row over sponsorship clashes.
The 'Blades of Glory' star has previously done voice-over work for American car company General Motors - while the movie car is a Ford Mustang, and the film is sponsored by Ford.
Arnett tells industry publication Variety: "I was very excited at the prospect of playing the part of Kitt in the new Knight Rider movie.
"However, because of a long relationship with General Motors as the voice of GMC Trucks, I had to respectfully withdraw from the project."
