Man accused of Diddy break-in arrested there before14/04/2012 - 10:05:53
A New York man has been arrested for a second time accused of breaking into Sean "Diddy" Combs's East Hampton mansion in New York.
He allegedly ate food and drank alcohol there, and even slept in one of the rap mogul's bedrooms.
According to the arrest report issued by the East Hampton Town Police, Quamine Taylor (aged 30) of Queens, had previously been arrested at the home in June 2001.
Taylor was last arrested at the sprawling home, where Diddy has played host to Hamptons hotshots at annual summertime soirees, on April 1 of this year.
Taylor told The New York Post in a jail interview published yesterday that he had been going to the house from time to time since 2001.
"I stay there a lot, but Sean gets funny sometimes about me staying there," he said.
Taylor's mother told the newspaper her son had a long history of mental illness.
A spokeswoman for Combs declined to comment.
Taylor is being held in Suffolk County Jail on trespassing and petit larceny charges.
The unemployed 30-year-old has not posted $2,000 (€1,522) bail and is due back in court next month.
The police report stated that Taylor entered the home through an unlocked basement door at about 1.10am. He then "ate food, drank soda and liquor and went to sleep in a bedroom upstairs".
Police responded at that time to an alarm at the house, but Taylor apparently convinced an investigating officer that he had permission from Combs to be there. At about 4.45pm, a caretaker at the house called police when she discovered Taylor there, telling officers he was not authorised to be in the home.
An officer at the East Hampton Police Department last night said no-one was available to answer questions about the case.
Taylor was represented at his arraignment on the misdemeanour charges in East Hampton Town Court by a lawyer with Legal Aid, which has a policy of not commenting on pending cases.
In 2010, a Florida woman claiming to be Combs' wife was arrested in East Hampton. Authorities said she was found twice at a home she mistakenly thought was owned by Combs.
