Madonna: I learned a lot from making documentary
Madonna has been slated in the past for her forays into film, but she said making her documentary, 'I Am Because We Are', was one of the most rewarding experiences of her life.
“When I heard about the overwhelming number of orphans living in Malawi and the hardships they had to endure, I felt inspired to go there and document it and see what I could do to help,” she said.
“I was not prepared for what I would witness but more importantly what I would learn – about Malawi, about myself, about humanity.”
The singer, whose single '4 Minutes' is top of the charts, admitted that she has learnt a lot from her journey there.
“The suffering there is palpable but so is the joy,” she said.
“I Am Because We Are is really seeing the world as one unified whole, it’s an understanding of the inter-connectedness between all of us.”
