Khan honoured by music foundation
11/09/2008 - 19:13:17Singer Chaka Khan has been awarded a lifetime achievement prize by the Rhythm and Blues Foundation.
The R n'B legend was handed the Pioneer Award at a ceremony in Philadelphia on Tuesday in recognition of her 35-year career in music.
Others to be honoured with the award at this week's event include soul singer Bill Withers, funk band Kool & the Gang, and Motown legend Teena Marie.
The Rhythm and Blues Foundation provides financial and medical help to artists in need.
