Men fooled into applying for hoax lapdance television show

Over 20,000 men applied to a hoax reality TV show that promised to send ten of them to an island with 40 lapdancers.

They thought they would be taken to a tropical island and given tasks to complete while being harassed by half-naked girls.

However, the men didn't realise they were being secretly filmed for a new E4 comedy called The Pilot Show.

The would-be contestants were lured by pictures in a poster advertising campaign for a bogus show called Lapdance Island, says The Sun.

Some were even "auditioned" to see if they could cope with the pressure by answering general knowledge questions while a scantily-clad girl gyrated in front of them.

The advert said: "E4 is looking for 10 hot-blooded males to battle it out as 40 lapdancers do everything in their power to make it hard for them."

Contestants would have to endure 24-hour provocation from the beauties, but were not allowed to touch them. Applicants were asked to fill in a questionnaire, which asked: "What is it about a tropical island inhabited by lapdancers that appeals to you?"

A spokesman for The Pilot Show, which starts next month, said: "It was unbelievable. We had thousands of applications from eager blokes."
