Paris Hilton has spoken of her devastation at the death of one of the contestants taking part in her ‘British Best Friend’ reality show.
The socialite – who is currently in Dubai filming her third search for a new pal – paid tribute to Kat McKenzie, who was runner-up on the second series of the show earlier this year and passed away suddenly on Friday aged 25.
Hilton wrote on her Twitter page: “I am so sad, my friend Kat from ‘British BFF’ passed away. She was such a beautiful, funny, and charismatic woman. She will truly be missed.
“It is devastating to hear of her loss, my thoughts and wishes go out to her friends and family. Love you Kitty Kat. RIP.”
McKenzie - a former pole dancer from Guilford, Surrey - was beaten by Samuel Haxtell in the show but Paris promised they would always remain friends.
During the ITV2 show the contestants had to compete in a series of challenges in order to become Paris’ best friend, including makeovers, dress designs, a talent show and getting presents for Hilton.
The winners of each task received treats from the blonde beauty.
The cause of McKenzie’s death is unknown but police are not treating it as suspicious.
