Harrelson's Dublin 'assault' lawsuit settled23/04/2012 - 18:46:54
A lawsuit involving actor Woody Harrelson over an alleged snooker cue assault in a Dublin nightclub has been settled today.
Factory worker Eamonn Cullen had taken Harrelson to court over claims the Hollywood star split his lip and broke a tooth in a row at Renards in September 2001.
Legal sources revealed the lawsuit at the High Court in Dublin was settled ahead of a hearing planned for tomorrow.
It is not known how much money, if any, changed hands as part of the agreement.
Mr Cullen, from Artane, north Dublin, had claimed he was hit in the face with the cue leaving him with a split lip requiring 12 stitches and a damaged tooth.
Renards, trading as Engleson Ltd, had also been named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
Harrelson last month sought to have the case dismissed on grounds of inordinate delay and want of prosecution before the two legal teams opened talks outside the court.
At the time the court was told the action “may not trouble the court in the event of certain matters occurring”.
