Ferguson lands US TV slot

Former British royal Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York has landed a coveted slot on American breakfast television.

The ex-wife of Prince Andrew is set to front regular segments on NBC's Today programme, covering heart-wrenching tales of life's tribulations.

She says: "I'm going to be a regular on Today. Stories from the heart. Like how you lose weight."

Producers Amy Rosenblum and Debbie Kosofsky were so impressed by Ferguson's presenting skills, they offered her a deal on the spot.

Rosenblum says: "It was an experiment, but it's doing well. She'll be on every month."
