Creepy horror full of nasty surprises
31/03/2006 - 19:34:44The Ordeal (Tartan, €21.99), is a wild, scary story of dementia to the nth degree.
Stevens (Laurent Lucas) finds himself taken in by a stranger when his van breaks down, but kindness soon takes a horrific turn when his benefactor turns jailer. There are shades of darkness in abundance here, reminiscent of some of the best horrors, so prepare for some nasty surprises. Really creepy.
Director’s commentary fleshes out some of the background (so to speak), while there’s also a short film and a ‘making of’ featurette.
