Coldplay and Jay-Z will perform together on New Year's Eve.
The 'Paradise' hitmakers are teaming up with the rap mogul for a gig at the Barclays Center in New York on December 31.
The chart-toppers previously joined forces on New Year's Eve in 2010 and this will mark the third time they take to the stage together, most recently at the Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony in September.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has revealed the band has more in common with Jay-Z than people might think.
He told Pitchfork magazine: "We're from very different backgrounds. But we love the same stuff everyone else loves."
Martin is close friends with the rapper and his wife Beyonce Knowles, and there are hopes the superstar might put in an appearance after she duetted with Jay-Z during his sold-out Barclays Centre shows in October.
Coldplay will also perform in Uncasville, Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday 29 December and at the Barclays Centre on Sunday December 30. The concerts will be the band's first New York City shows since 2005.
Martin has recently admitted the band love performing live and never get tired of seeing fans turn up to hear their music.
He said: "Whilst it might not be perceived [as cool] to be really enthused when people show up to hear your music, we don't give a f**k, we really love that."
