Church slams Pavarotti
Welsh soprano Charlotte Church has branded Italian opera star Luciano PavarottiI a "pig" for refusing to sing a duet with her at a London concert four years ago.
The teen singing sensation was due to perform with the 69-year-old tenor in front of 75,000 classical music fans at Hyde Park.
However, their duet was axed at the last minute after Pavarotti accused the 19- year-old of learning the wrong musical part.
Church says: "He was horrible, really nasty.
"He was a pig, and I was supposed to do a duet with him.
"I'd learnt the soprano part, which is the higher girls part rather than the mezzo.
"He was like, 'You have to sing the mezzo.'
"I said, 'I'm a soprano, how am I supposed to sing the mezzo?, and he said: 'You don't sing with me then.'
"He sent me out of his dressing room. I was only 15 - devastated. Pavarotti is a big fat diva."
Church's new album Tissues and Issues is a distinct move away from her opera roots and hits stores in July.
