Cardle offers olive branch in 'feud' with X-Factor's Arthur

Matt Cardle has offered an olive branch to 'X Factor' winner James Arthur after the pair became embroiled in a spat.

Cardle, who won the contest in 2010, said he would love to go for a pint with Arthur, who is still riding high in the charts with 'Impossible'.

The pair fell out after Arthur made critical comments about previous male 'X Factor' winners.

Appearing as a guest on ITV’s 'Loose Women' today, Cardle suggested he would be keen to put the Twitter spat behind them.

He told presenters of the show that Arthur “said something offensive to me” and made derogatory remarks about the songwriting on the winners’ albums.

Cardle said: “He’s entitled to an opinion but we’re talking about some brilliant songwriters that I wrote the songs with, also offending. So I gave him some friendly advice to try and keep your mouth shut a little bit. I think he’s brilliant. I think James is a very, very talented man. I’m sure he’ll go very far.”

He added that they have not sorted out their differences, and added: “We haven’t been for a pint yet. I’d love to go for a pint with him.”
