Brydon slams musical plans for TV show
Rob Brydon has slammed plans for a 'Gavin and Stacey' musical as "pants".
The Welsh actor – who played Uncle Bryn in the BBC comedy – explained he is happy to leave the show as it was, despite creator Ruth Jones recently announcing plans to transform the series into a West End spectacular after the Christmas special was axed last year.
When asked about proposals for a 'Gavin and Stacey' musical, he told BANG Showbiz: "It sounds a bit pants, I'd be just as happy to leave it. It was perfect [as it was], leave it like that."
The 46-year-old star admitted despite shunning the stage show, he would be keen to reprise his role as Bryn if plans for another 'Gavin and Stacey' Christmas special go ahead.
Speaking at the Loaded LAFTAS at London's exclusive Cuckoo Club venue earlier today, Rob added: "The greatest experience for the actors is actually doing the show and waiting six or seven months until it's released.
"I think they may do a Christmas special, and if they did I would definitely do it."
Alan Carr, Leigh Francis and Jimmy Carr were among the winners at the Loaded LAFTAS, while the likes of 'Geordie Shore' star Vicky Pattison, Jack Whitehall and Dom Joly were in attendance at the star-studded event.
