Brown's Rotten aspirations

Former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown insists he is a perfect rock figurehead, because he's an outspoken maverick like legendary Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten.

I Wanna Be Adored star Brown believes rock fans need to look up to anarchic musicians, and he's convinced he has the same anti-authoritarian streak as Rotten, real name John Lydon.

Brown said: "I'm a legend in me own dinner time. I'm a free spirit and I think people see that.

"Right from the off, I've never had to act up or be something I'm not.

"When you're a kid, you want someone doing it for you. I always felt Johnny Rotten was doing it for me.

"Nobody could tell him what to do and people see that in me."
