Brown on car park assault charge

Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a man in a West Hollywood car park.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said officers responded to a report of six men fighting last night.

Witnesses told them that the brief fracas flared over a parking space.

The department said the “altercation allegedly led to Chris Brown punching the victim”.

The “victim” was not identified but the celebrity website TMZ, which first reported the incident outside a recording studio, said the brawl also involved Frank Ocean, a nominee in the forthcoming Grammy Awards.

He later tweeted that he “got jumped by (Brown) and a couple guys” and suffered a finger cut.

The department said it will contact Brown later.

Brown’s attack on singer Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammy awards overshadowed the show. He was injured in a June 2012 brawl with members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage at a New York nightclub.
