The Labour Party is insisting it still has not heard from Fine Gael about forming a new Government, despite a spokesman for Enda Kenny insisting he left a message on Eamon Gilmore's phone yesterday.
The two parties are expected to formally begin negotiations on a coalition deal later today.
Fine Gael is adamant that Mr Kenny left a message on Mr Gilmore's phone yesterday.
And the party said it is the first step in opening up talks on forming a Government.
But Labour said they are not aware of any phone messages, and even questioned if Fine Gael had the correct phone number, before adding there are plenty of ways of contacting the leader.
Labour is also adamant it would not tolerate Fine Gael being involved in parallel talks with Independents, if they go into negotiations.
Enda Kenny will meet with senior figures this morning and appoint a negotiating team.
