The Irish Naval Service has today released a loggerhead turtle back into the wild.
Last Christmas, Seal Rescue Ireland had an unusual patient at their centre.
Ninja was their first ever loggerhead sea turtle to arrive and was cold-stunned after washing up on a beach in Wexford.
They cared for her around the clock and after three months of treatment she was transferred to Galway Atlantaquaria to complete her rehabilitation, where she was renamed Eva.
Nine months later, she has made a complete recovery thanks to the hard work and dedication of these teams.
