And while they're an amazing watch, we have never seen basking sharks quite like this before.
Bren Walsh of Wild Atlantic Way Climbing captured this rare footage of basking sharks breaching the water of the coast of Malin Head.
Who knew they could be so active?
Sharktrust.org says that while it is not known for sure why basking sharks engage in this activity, it's likely to do with courtship.
"The Basking Sharks seem to breach most commonly when in large groups, and when consistent courtship activity is taking place.
"This suggests that breaching may serve as some form of social or sexual function, as with the White Shark, perhaps as a method for demonstrating fitness or receptiveness to mating."
It has also been suggested that they may do this to shake off parasites.
Which is less romantic.
