Laura Neff and her family were enjoying a normal Sunday afternoon at their North Carolina home when they had what could be charitably called an unexpected visitor.
After hearing a noise coming from their kitchen, Laura went to investigate and discovered A SNAKE descending from her spice cabinet towards a basket of fresh eggs.
The snake then proceeded to devour an egg whole in front of them.
The snake was reportedly a non-venomous rat snake which are useful for pest control as they eat (you've guessed it) rats. They are also clearly partial to eggs - usually retrieved from nests outside.
Laura explains that the snake got in through a hole in their laundry room floor and they let it finish its snack before they escorted it outside.
"Using two brooms, a whole lot of patience, nudging, and encouraging, we finally convinced it that going out the open window was a MUCH better option than slithering away behind the fridge!"
"As soon as we could get its bulk under the brooms, we hefted it out the window, and off it went to the rest of its evening. And then we drank. (Kidding! okay, sort of. Lol!)"
