In case you need a reminder not to look at your phone while driving, this video could give you just that.
The video shows a man driving a bus on a motorway - he takes his smartphone out of his pocket, and while he’s looking at it, he crashes straight into a vehicle ahead.
Luckily the driver looks relatively unhurt by the incident, but his vehicle did not escape so well.
The video serves as a shocking reminder about how quickly an accident can occur if you take your eyes off the road, even for seconds.
This week, the gardaí and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) have launched a campaign to target driver fatigue, which is thought to cause up to one in five road deaths. The campaign aims to increase awareness about the potential dangers of driving while tired ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend to prevent accidents.
This video of the bus drirver's crash, although published in 2013, is still a relevant reminder that any distractions while driving could potentially be lethal.
So stay focused, and stay safe out there!
