WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Sperm whale explodes during dissection

A sperm whale which died from natural causes in the Faroe Islands gave a biologist quite a fright.

The whale was one of two that became trapped in a narrow channel in the Faroe Islands.

It has been reported that the islanders wanted to use one of the whale's skeleton's for their museum so this biologist had the gut churning task of removing the contents of the carcass.

Upon dissection however the contents of the whale's stomach spurted out at an alarming rate, and even made an explosive sound.

The biologist made a dash for it and was saved the gory details.
