For most of us, our ability to speak Irish has devolved to a few key phrases which come in handy when you're on holidays abroad and you want to confuse/talk about one of the locals without them knowing about it.

That kind of thing.
But our pitiful grasp of our national language is never more obvious than when in conversation with a
