A three-year-old Filipino girl who was pronounced dead last week astounded everyone at her funeral when she woke up.
A video taken on a phone by one of the mourners at the funeral in Zamboanga del Sur in southern Philippines went viral and the local police department have since confirmed the incident.
The video shows the unnamed girl being taken from the coffin by her father and held while mourners crowd around.
Police Senior Inspector Heidil Teelan told the Phillipine Star that while the police were not the proper authority to confirm the medical case, they had spoken to the family.
The little girl was reportedly brought to a clinic for medical attention last Friday after suffering a serious fever for days.
According to Teelan, she was pronounced dead at the clinic the next day.
“During that time, the attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead last Saturday morning about 9 a.m," he said.
Her family then brought her home to prepare her for the funeral in the church the next day.
At the funeral, an attendee is reported to have been arranging the coffin when they saw the little girl's head move. Her pulse was checked and it was found she was still alive.
She was given water, taken back to the clinic and is currently at the family home where she remains "in a state of comatose".
Teelin has said that nurses have been sent to the house and they are seeking a medical consultation at the closest hospital.
Update: Sadly, the little girl is since reported to have passed away at her home.
