VIDEO: Those Irish names nobody can EVER pronounce

Oh, the trials and tribulations of having an Irish name. Caoimhe, Blathnaid, Daithí, Saoirse, Méabh, Oisín, Áine - while we should rightly be proud of our heritage, our unique names can lead to some mangled pronunciation from both foreigners and natives alike.

And who can blame them? Sometimes the spelling looks like we're just making it up for a laugh.

In this video from Facts, four Irish people discuss the challenges of having an unpronounceable name.

Our favourite bit was the granny who still gets her granddaughter's name (Gráinne) slightly wrong.
