Video shows how much work has to be done to clean up Electric Picnic campsite

A video posted online shows the extent of the clean-up after Electric Picnic.

The charity The Jacket Off Your Back posted the footage on Facebook showing a field full of abandoned tents surrounded by litter in one of the festival's campsites on Monday afternoon.

Festival goers had been asked by two charities, The Jacket Off Your Back and Tents for Calais, to leave their tents behind after they had left Stradbally.

The groups were going use them for refugees in Calais, Syria and Greece, with The Jacket Off Your Back saying that they will also wash and use the sleeping bags for homeless people in Ireland.

The video with the caption "Omg the smell of piss, drink and muck is unreal, it looks like Idomeni without the refugees" has been viewed nearly 250,000 times since being posted on Facebook on Monday afternoon.

Despite finding most of the tents unusable, the group has already managed to fill three vans with warm clothes for refugees in Syria later this year.
