With the help of some of the little superheroes of Temple Street, Miriam O'Callaghan today launched the hospital's latest fundraiser - Trick or Treat for Temple Street.
Along with Spiderman and Supergirl, Miriam and Temple Street are encouraging families, businesses and schools to hold a Hallowe'en party to raise funds to help a sick child.
The campaign is running from now until October 31st and, this year, the money raised from the campaign will go towards the building of a new Neurology unit.
As Denise Fitzgerald, CEO of Fundraising said:
“Many of our sickest kids depend on equipment bought by generous donations to stay alive. This year we need to raise over €5million to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.
"Everyone loves a Halloween party - an excuse to dress up and have some fun in work, in school or with the family. But these Halloween parties can truly mean the difference between life and death. So we urge everyone; please help us to help them.”
Miriam explained why she got involved:
“Trick or Treat for Temple Street is so simple – have a party and help sick children. We all hold Halloween parties every year so why not do it for these amazing and brave young children. The hospital has a very special place in my heart ."
