Fáilte Ireland have released the promo video for their new venture, Ireland’s Ancient East and it promises magic, myth and history for future visitors.

It includes several counties along the eastern half of the country stretching from Newgrange and the Boyne Valley in the north east, through the midlands, to Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile, Waterford’s Viking Quarter and on to Cork.
There will be four different categories of places to explore - prehistoric sites such as Newgrange and the Brownshill dolmen in Carlow will take you to Ancient Ireland and the early Christian period will be showcased at the likes of Clonmacnoise, Glendalough and Mellifont Abbey. Trim Castle, Hook Head lighthouse and the Rock of Cashel will represent Medieval Ireland and Anglo Ireland will be seen at a number of the great houses and gardens from the period.
