VIDEO: Galway kids get epic Christmas surprise - and look who came to share it with them

It wasn't exactly your typical schoolday for the children of Presentation College in Athenry recently.

It all began when second-year students from the Galway school wrote to Three Ireland after seeing last year’s ‘Perfect Surprise’ Christmas TV ad.

In case you haven't seen it, the clip features a father going above-and-beyond to bring his daughter a White Christmas, with the help of a special snow cloud.

After seeing the ad, the media class wrote in numbers to the company last December asking them if they could have the snow that used in it .

Little did they expect what would happen next.

Staff at the company was so inspired by the letters, they waited a whole year to give the kids a pre-Christmas surprise by changing their schoolyard into a winter wonderland overnight!

The painstaking process took 24 hours and involved 40 Christmas trees, around 3.5 tonnes of artificial snow and a certain Mr Paul O’Connell to set up.

Arriving into school the next morning, you can see the joy on all the faces, young and old, as they take in the dreamland around them.

To add to the excitement, Three Ireland even sent along Irish rugby legend O’Connell to enjoy it all with them.

And to top it all off, the snow cloud appeared over the schoolyard, much to everyone's delight.

We’d love to know what their mammies thought of the state of their clothes when they got home though!

It may be a commercial, but with a month to go until Christmas, it looks like these Galway students have festive memory they'll never, ever forget.
