Incredible footage has emerged online of a group of Dublin commuters joining forces to physically move a Luas tram under which a girl had been trapped.
The incident happened around 9am this morning at the Jervis St stop on the Luas Red Line in Dublin. It is not clear how the unidentified girl, who appears to be wearing a school uniform, became trapped between the carriage and the platform.
Footage shot by a bystander shows the girl screaming in pain, as commuters band together to push the train, enabling her to be freed.
Reports said the girl did not suffer serious injuries in the incident, and was subsequently treated at the Mater Hospital.
A spokesperson for the Luas said an investigation was underway into the incident and no further details were available.
Luas services subsequently returned to normal following the incident.
