Elijah Cook was born in Minnesota on the 2nd of January of this year with no hearing in one ear and limited hearing in the other.
On March 5th, he was fitted with a hearing aid and the baby boy heard his mother's voice for the first time.
His mother Ahavah describes the special moment:
“The first time I saw him blink, I had a lot of emotions,” she said.
“I was trying really hard not to cry. I didn’t want him to see me cry. I was trying hard to keep it together and just talk to him.”
Hid dad, Jason, says they have noticed a change in Elijah since his hearing has improved.
“The cooing is the big thing,” she said.
“He wasn’t very talkative, but ever since he was fitted for his hearing aids he’s cooing more, he pays more attention.”
