You never know what these teens will be up to next.

This mam thought she had found drugs in her teen's room - she was hilariously wrong

Mams are usually as alert for misbehaviour from their teens as the most seasoned of police officers - but sometimes they can overreact.

16-year-old Ashley Banks from Texas posted the screengrabs of a very funny text conversation with her mom - and the misunderstanding has now gone viral being retweeted over 32,000 times.

The other day, Ashley asked her mother to fish out a calculator from a drawer in her bedroom for her friend. There, her mom found what she obviously thought were some kind of pills and immediately sent Ashley a message asking her what the hell was going on.

And you know she meant business because she used both her first and middle names:

"Ashley Carol I will not have drugs in my house."

Facing an immediate grounding and other consequences when her dad got home, Ashley had a simple way to prove her innocence - just add water.

The 'drugs' turned out to be a nifty toy, Magic Grow Capsules, that transform into adorable little dinosaurs when wet.

Still though, dinosaurs can be just as dangerous as drugs.

We like how her mom tries to deflect once she realises her mistake - "what are you, seven?"

You're never too old for dinosaur toys - especially if they lead to internet fame.
