We’ve been saying it for years, (and not just because we are biased) Co. Kerry is up there amongst the most beautiful places in the world.
And now it’s official.
The Skellig Ring has been named as one of the top ten regions in the world to visit in 2017 by the Travel Gods at Lonely Planet.
The area is a 30km drive off the famous Ring of Kerry and connects Valentia Island, Portmagee and The Skelligs themselves with Waterville and the beautiful Ballinskelligs.
Describing it as: "Ireland's most charismatically wild and emerald stretch of coastline" we couldn't agree more.
The publisher recommends ten countries, ten cities, ten regions and ten value destinations every year.
Also on this year's list is Choquequirao, Peru, Taranaki, New Zealand, North Wales and South Australia.
