It should be safe up there.

This delivery man left a parcel in a very unusual - but safe - place

This man in England got a bit of a surprise to find a package had been delivered to his house - and left on the roof.

Ajmal Aziz was obviously a bit confused as to what had happened so he tweeted the company, Yodel, looking for an explanation and they promised to look into it.

It seems the driver was trying to lob the parcel in an open first floor window and quite spectacularly missed.

He then diligently filled out the "I have left your parcel in a safe location as requested by the sender" space.

Well, he wasn't wrong.

A spokesman for Yodel gave a statement to the Mirror and said the driver had returned with a ladder to get the parcel down.

“One of our drivers was overly enthusiastic in his attempt to deliver a parcel for a customer who was out: aiming for an open window, he missed and found the roof.

"It was obviously a silly thing to do and this is very embarrassing. To his credit, the driver returned to the house with some ladders in his own time to retrieve the parcel and apologise to the customer.

"We've reminded all our drivers that while it is important to go the extra mile to get people their deliveries, parcels should never be thrown.

"We have apologised and are sending a bouquet of flowers to the customer.”

We presume they'll give him the flowers directly this time round.
